qwertyasdfuiopghjkl(Replying to hackint.logs.kiska.pw/archiveteam-bs/20221201#c332707 ) pcr: I googled it and it looks like there's a lot of stuff that isn't stored on a blockchain/"decentralized" that would disappear if Odysee shut down, such as (according to redd.it/oub5xu , old.reddit.com/r/lbry/comments/oub5xu/-/h72435f and

qwertyasdfuiopghjklold.reddit.com/r/lbry/comments/vx5cff/-/ifu23gc ) video thumbnails, user avatars, comments, likes/dislikes, view counts and follower counts. (this might be incomplete, I haven't found a list of what is stored where).
-
pcrOf course a blockchain project doesn't actually use blockchain completely. In that case there is stuff to grab.
-
qwertyasdfuiopghjklThe actual videos/files also apparently aren't on a blockchain (only their hashes, and some other metadata like titles and descriptions are, if I'm not misreading something), so I guess there are probably some videos that only lbry's/odysee's (not sure which it is) "official" servers have a copy of, which would be lost in the case of a shutdown.
-
qwertyasdfuiopghjkl(at least that's slightly more decentralized than the other stuff though)

madpro|m> So this leads me to the inevitable decision to shut down these forums. I am closing registrations, and switching all boards to be read-only shortly. The forums will be a permanent resource for the knowledge that has accumulated here.

madpro|mPixelation.org, a pixelart community that has seen several incarnations over the years is shutting any time soon. Content on this version of the forum dates as far back as 2005
