02:17:06 Hey gang! Apologies if this is not quite the right place, but is there anything I can do to get the Internet Archive's scraper (specifically Zeno) to be a bit smarter/gentler with what it archives? It's been hitting my site at a peak of 200 QPS and causing performance issues. I wouldn't mind it so much, except the actual URLs it's hitting are on 02:17:07 the very low end of what would be useful to archive 02:18:26 I would prefer not to just user-agent block it because I am obviously a big fan of the service overall. Until I checked the IP block of the scraper I assumed it was just some badly-behaved random person or SEO scraper 02:24:21 has zippyshare shutting down been noted here yet? 02:24:29 CookMePlox: You might want to email info⊙ao I'm not super familiar with their scraper though 02:25:00 Alright, thanks - I've had fairly limited success contacting that email in the past (about much happier things) but I spose I'll give it a try 02:25:04 CookMePlox: Someone else also asked about this a while ago. You'd need to contact IA about this. info⊙ao (And I'd love to hear what that is about, if they tell you anything about it, since it sounds weird for IA's normal MO.) 02:25:22 Ah yes, I got sniped. :-) 02:25:24 Looks like Zeno specifically is https://github.com/CorentinB/Zeno 02:25:36 Yeah, it's especially weird since the user-agent doesn't even identify it as associated with IA 02:25:53 I tried searching around for `Zeno user agent`, etc and didn't even find that repo 02:26:41 https://github.com/CorentinB was the 8th google result for `zeno scraper archive.org` for me - definitely not easy to find 02:35:44 JustAnotherArchivist edited Deathwatch (+115, /* 2023 */ Add Zippyshare): https://wiki.archiveteam.org/?diff=49569&oldid=49568 02:36:20 well, that now answers my questions :-) 02:37:03 Cc arkiver, this is a big one. ^ 02:38:16 Very big 02:46:41 Thanks for your help! I'll let you know if I hear anything back about the scraper 02:52:28 oof 02:52:40 let's make a zippyshare channel. anyone have ideas? 02:53:00 zippyshart 02:53:34 ^^zippyshart^^ xD 02:53:35 I like it 02:54:34 lol 02:54:57 maybe 02:57:27 zipoff 02:57:57 zipshut 02:58:09 unzippy 03:07:35 slippyshare 03:08:13 zippyunfair 03:09:09 Zippyshart is good tho 03:10:28 voltagex: 03:10:28 > Jesus, that's not enough time to archive ZippyShare 03:10:28 Maybe it is, afaik we cant enumerate their files, so if we just grab the urls we can scrape it's probably doable 03:12:14 zippyscare 03:13:52 Usernam created Zippyshare.com (+1271, Created page with "{{Infobox project | title =…): https://wiki.archiveteam.org/?title=Zippyshare.com 03:18:02 zipdespair 03:21:37 zippyeet 03:26:26 ziprepair 03:28:03 It's more of a demolition than a repair. 03:31:33 zipC4share 03:32:00 #takingsemtextomillionsoffiles 03:32:03 Ahem 03:43:59 Hi 04:04:39 zipdespair 04:04:51 zippysnare 04:39:52 rezippy 05:38:27 Something to note is that Zippyshare blocks access from Germany, Spain and the UK (maybe others as well). 05:38:27 Servers and Warriors from these locations could likely not be used. 14:44:03 let's do #zippyshart 16:37:35 Hello All, is anyone working on a service to send zippyshare links to be archived? 16:37:52 I plan on searching for Zippyshare links myself. 16:38:28 --> #zippyshart 16:38:44 haha, sorry, I didn't mean to ping you. 16:39:11 also, thanks!
