01:24:46 Buzzer.com, a streaming platform for sports, is shutting down. https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?id=1674830386386419731 01:26:36 i guess the final buzzer sounded 01:28:25 fireonlive: *crickets* 01:28:54 😢 01:28:57 *ba dumm tss* 01:29:00 :3 01:29:02 https://thumbs.gfycat.com/UnconsciousBonyLabradorretriever-mobile.mp4 01:30:23 :D 03:17:22 GoXLR is in trouble (or "dead"): https://twitter.com/EposVox/status/1675565924651335680 03:17:32 https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F0DOT1YXgAAQBiD?format=jpg&name=orig 03:18:02 write-up: https://streamguides.gg/2023/07/the-goxlr-is-dead-but-possibly-open-source/ 03:39:19 for the twitter ratelimit thing, heard https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/ does not have a ratelimit yet, but you need to log in 03:46:29 pls keep bypasses in PM to arkiver tks 04:01:04 oh, its pretty well known online anyways 04:03:26 so much stuff flying around >_< 04:03:35 twitter is such a messy boi lol 04:07:12 in fact twitter is impossible to view without signing in rn 04:08:06 which makes socialbot essentially useless rn 04:08:19 yeah :( 04:08:27 rip socialbott 04:08:36 rip 04:10:04 but what could be done, is probably to do some really complex ignores for twitter, so it loads the content without appearing signed in for wbm playback 04:10:45 hmmm.. maybe 04:37:16 Twitter's only reporting 404s for me 09:44:07 Could https://jkorpela.fi be queued for AB? No particular worry about it imminently disappearing, but it would be great to have a full snapshot archived. The webmaster is a retiree already so the site isn't necessarily going to be around forever 14:45:46 I have a few CD-ROMs that I would like to archive. I have tried CDBurnerXP and ImgBurn, and both failed with saying that some sectors were not readable. However, reading the CD-ROM with Windows Explorer, or even archiving the files with 7-zip does work with no problem, the latter at full speed. 14:46:53 Yts98 edited Skyblog (+282, Discovered the short URL rule for posts): https://wiki.archiveteam.org/?diff=50110&oldid=50109 15:33:25 albertlarsan68: use h2cdimage, that tool tries to read elsewhere once a borked sector is hit and continues there, it tries to isolate bad ones that way since it closes in at the gaps until only bad ones are left 15:34:17 https://www.heise.de/download/product/h2cdimage-39056 15:34:33 on the linux side ddrescue works similar 15:46:03 I am trying h2cdimage, it has not blown up yet. If it doesn't work I might mood my Ubuntu and try ddrescue. As I said "normal" read works flawlessly. 15:48:02 "normal" read is obeying the filesystem structures which may not refer to the damaged sectors at all; if it's a multisession disc, those sectors may be part of a failed or aborted session or something. Is there a chance that copy-protection software could try to read those and make sure they fail, or is the disc just plain files and a 7zip archive 15:48:02 actually gets everything? 16:09:18 This is a The Sims genuine CD-ROM, so it is not a multisession disc. It could be that the DRM uses this kind of protection, since IIRC you need a disc in the drive for the game to work. The zip archive through 7z worked, I just set the concurrency to 1 to avoid jumping all over the disc. The disk was running fullest-speed, and no errors appeared. 16:21:16 I happen to remember The Sims used SafeDisc DRM, if it helps looking it up 16:21:44 maybe daemontools works better on catching those discs 16:40:07 daemontools fee did not work. I might research SafeDisk DRM. 16:40:18 Ahh okay, knowing that it's SafeDisc is hugely more informative than "I have a few CD-ROMs". Just a smidge relevant. Good call. 16:48:47 albertlarsan68: If you have the specialized tools needed http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title=Disc_Dumping_Guide_(MPF) is good, but it wants a very particular disc drive 16:49:09 (it also gives you hashes you can compare with their database afterwards) 16:56:15 Maakuth|m: done 16:56:38 pokechu22: thank you! 17:28:24 Exorcism edited Skyblog (+26): https://wiki.archiveteam.org/?diff=50111&oldid=50110 17:28:25 Exorcism uploaded File:Skyrock logo.jpg: https://wiki.archiveteam.org/?title=File%3ASkyrock%20logo.jpg 19:56:16 how would I use wget-at in order to create warc files of a spidered website? 21:29:50 --warc-file="filename" no? 21:29:54 even using normal wget that's what I do 22:46:22 FireonLive edited ЯRUS (+3, ЯRUS is no more): https://wiki.archiveteam.org/?diff=50113&oldid=50103 22:58:32 small wiki proposal: for "Current Projects" it says "" under "Recently finished projects", however what if we made that (in the comment) projects completed in the last 30 (or 15) days going forward? just for easier accessibility/more visibility 22:58:32 for people going there shortly after the fact 23:02:51 (there is Projects but it needs a lot of love :D and this would be a little front page way of 'look what we've done recently go check it out') 23:03:12 (and it would be more in line with "Recently Finished" overall) 23:17:54 (cc JAA)
