It certainly is a laptop accessory xD

Wayward
Why would anyone buy this?

dxrt
maybe you have an odd shaped device that won't fit into wherever the USB port is unless that is used
-
Wayward
but it, too, is so chunky
-
dxrt
It is, maybe slightly less chunky than the other device?
-
Wayward
Certainly can't be some incompatability between USB 3.1 SuperSpeedPlus that this device "conditions out" to 3.0 SuperSpeed spec

Turning some USB power banks (supports QC3.0) into a dedicated UPS for my modem/router and accesspoints, with these.

(not 5v -> 12v up converter, but signals the powerbank to release 12v)
-
Wayward
Happen to have some power banks that charge and pass-thru while charging. Not all of them do this.

Anyone ever try using diskmgmt.msc with Narrator as your only guide? It's about as terrifying as defusing a bomb while blindfolded.
-
Wayward
There should be a law!
-
Wayward
Have you considered DISKPART instead?
-
systwi
I ended up using that, found it easier to determine which volume I was selecting.
-
Wayward
seems easier to initialize a disk in diskmgmt.msc, then fiddle with DISKPART
-
systwi
Narrator doesn't announce disk numbers, only capacities, which doesn't help with identical disks.
-
Wayward
though I'm sure I could just as easily learn and memorize the commands
-
systwi
I actually only needed to mount a volume to a letter. I'd typically assign one using diskmgmt.msc, but couldn't this time around. Too scary once it sounded like I had opened a format window.
-
Wayward
eeeeeew. also, IEEEIIIEIEEIEIEIEEIIIEEEEIE probably sounds funny
-
systwi
Or the classic soisoisoisoisoisoi
-
systwi
Even though it was fixed in newer Narrator versions :(
