Hi all, don't know my way around the archiveteam wiki, but I was wondering if FileFront / GameFront files are available? I see it's marked as *saved* pre 2016. I'm looking for a few videos pre 2010 era.

Ajay
-
Ajay
If probably also is accessible using wayback machine
-
arkiver
ColdIce: yeah you can use the wayback machine
-

which URL are you looking for?

Hey everyone, has anyone gotten any of the projects to work with Azure Containers? I can get warrior working (since it points directly to a dockerfile I assume?), but not so much with the standalone scripts.
-
fuzzy8021
dsi there are dockers for all the projects as well
-
fuzzy8021
atdr.meo.ws/archiveteam/<project>-grab
-
fuzzy8021
never tried wtih azure tho
-
dsi
Thanks fuzzy8021. I probably just need to play with it a bit more. I'll probably just switch over to VMs instead in the end.
-
fuzzy8021
-
fuzzy8021
dont know if that works on azure
-
dsi
yeah, that's what i was trying. since azure containers is a little different than just straight docker, it probably needs some finessing.

hello! i read that data from the archive teams's scrape of parler would be available here (
archive.org/details/archiveteam_neparlepas) but it appears to be empty? was it taken down?
-
tech234a
It says “Access-restricted-item: true”... it’s probably down for now
-
jodizzle
My understanding is that it was temporarily de-listed
-
jodizzle
Uploading of the data is still in-progress
-
devsnek
will there be an announcement somewhere when it's all uploaded?
-
jodizzle
I'm not sure
-
tech234a
FYI From #internetarchive 9:18 PM <JAA> Access-restricted items are still shown, but you can't access their data.
-
devsnek
well i'll stick around to see i guess... thanks anyway!

I suppose `caffeinate -s` is a good idea

^ added a reference to CHV.net, an early video game review site that closed in 2001. I wonder if anyone here remembers them.

Site that came up in another job:
hostingpics.net
-
jodizzle
Claims that it's going to shut down at the beginning of the year, but as far as I can tell from poking around the forums, that was in 2018.
-
jodizzle
(Unless there's a date somewhere else that I'm not seeing.)

but I'm not totally sure

Checked the internet Archive, the message appears to have been put up Jan/Feb 2018

Oops, forgot to do that myself

Thanks

In any case, it's been run through AB. Though again, I think the actual image hosting is down.

LeighR
Hi all - I see that the TI processor wiki is dying tomorrow. Has anyone done a capture of it, in particular the binaries stored there?
-
Billy549
What's the link? c:
-
LeighR
-
OrIdow6
There was an AB job June of last year, don't know if it picked up these "binaries"
-
LeighR
hmmm
-
OrIdow6
-
OrIdow6
I.e. the meta ward
-
OrIdow6
*warc
-
Billy549
would it be a good idea to run it back through AB just in case?
-
LeighR
unless it pulled a lot of random crap from external websites, I would guess it got the files, given the size of the WARCs
-
EggplantN
Zerote_: issues with connection?
-
LeighR
but I'll take a look at the meta warc
-
Zerote_
EggplantN no, just had to reboot all my switches
-
EggplantN
Haha fairs
-
JAA
LeighR: Yeah, that one... That wiki is absolutely loaded with spam, so we had to ignore off-site URLs. The files in the wiki itself should be covered though I'd think.
-
JAA
There's also a dump in
archive.org/details/wiki-processorswikiticom which should have those as well.
-
LeighR
JAA: yep, looks pretty good
-
LeighR
I'll stop worrying about frustrated hardware hackers in 2050 :D
-
Jake
Could we run this blog in AB?
blog.screeps.com Just saw a banner saying it will be discontinued at some point and a few of the links seem to have poor coverage in the WBM at the moment.
-
JAA
Oh, looks like TI cleaned up the spam on their wiki. Check out the crap that was in there in June:
web.archive.org/web/20200614230951/…6A816x+DM816x+Software+Design+Guide
-
JAA
Looks like the WBM's link rewriting is broken on that page, so browsing it is annoying.
-
JAA
Well, on the whole site.
-
JAA
Jake: Yup, started that.

VerifiedJ
Did we get anywhere with crowdmap.com? I've just remembered its closing tomorrow (15th).
-
yano
looks like piratebox.cc is shutting down,
forum.piratebox.cc/read.php?9,23070
-
yano
their forums are now read-only
-
yano
can we run their forums through AB?
-
JAA
Website was it'll shut down end of 2020, forum post says it'll stay online until at least end of 2021.
-
yano
would it be worth it to preemptively grab it or wait? or?
-
JAA
Hmm, trying to find the downloads mentioned on the website. Any idea where those are?
-
OrIdow6
VerifiedJ: Not that I know of
-
yano
JAA: from what I can tell it's all on GitHub
-
JAA
-
yano
ooh, i missed that
-
yano
can we archive that too? or would we only do their website?
-
JAA
They also operate a torrent tracker.
-
JAA
-
yano
JAA: heck yea!
-
JAA
The above is for the OpenWrt version. There's also a Raspberry Pi version.
piratebox.cc/mirrors links the most recent couple versions, but I wonder where 1.1.2 and older can be found.
-
yano
-
JAA
forum.piratebox.cc/read.php?9,20146 mentions that 1.1.2 doesn't exist for RPi and has a torrent link for 1.1.1. No direct download though.
-
yano
dang
-
JAA
I guess we can throw the torrents onto IA and see if it manages to grab them.
-
spirit
is there an archive of android APKs?
-
JAA
At least I think that should work in principle. never tried it.
-
spirit
looking for early textsecure versions
-
yano
JAA: i started dl'ing the torrents to seed them
-
JAA
-
JAA
This is getting too messy...

JAA
pad.notkiska.pw/p/PirateBox (set your nick in the top right before editing)
-
JAA
-
JAA
Might be worth digging them out from the WBM. There are quite a lot of snapshots in 2015, fortunately.
-
yano
yikes, this is messy
-
JAA
Yeah
-
JAA
Well, it happens as software projects go on for years.
-
JAA
I'm sure digging out ancient AT software would be no different.
-
yano
yeah
-
yano
they sort of have a sitemap,
piratebox.cc/start?do=index
-
yano
but it's not that helpful heh
-
JAA
It might also be worth contacting them and asking about the old stuff. Maybe there are beta versions and stuff like that still somewhere. That's always lovely to catch as well.
-
yano
they have an irc channel on freenode
-
yano
i'll hop over and ask
-
JAA
What's this, what's this? There's something in the air...
downloads.piratebox.de
-
JAA
There were other files on it at one point that are gone now though.
-
yano
hehe
-
yano
i did a scrape of the sitemap
-
yano
lots of links; found a few new subdomains
-
JAA
The OpenWrt files were replaced multiple times if I'm reading the forum posts correctly.
-
yano
yikes
-
JAA
'Like tha last times, we can only publish the image using torrent.'
-
JAA
At least there's confirmation that the old releases were indeed torrent-only.
-
JAA
-
yano
dang
-
yano
-
yano
so it looks like some of the older torrents might already be backed up
-
yano
well at least the .torrent file
-
JAA
-
yano
-
yano
so found i have found 12 torrents
-
VerifiedJ
I have a list of crowdmap.com subdomains. Would be possible to put it through AB, so we at least get something before it closes.
verifiedjoseph.com/archiveteam/webs…te-discovery/crowdmap.com/items.txt AB probably wouldn't save the map json but its better than nothing.
-
arkiver
it closes?
-
VerifiedJ
arkiver sometime tomorrow (15th).
