JAASo apparently Firefox changed the behaviour of form fields on reload recently. It used to always keep the values entered by the user. This made many people angry but was considered correct: bugzilla.mozilla.org/46845
-
JAAAlways fun to discover things like this.
-
pabsJAA: I use the Form History Control extension to avoid problems like this stephanmahieu.github.io/fhc-home
-
pabs(needs a more recent version of Firefox than 78esr though)
-
pabshmm, maybe not the same thing...
-
JAAYeah, not the same thing, also requires cookies to be enabled, so it probably won't work with my heavy uMatrix blocking anyway.
-
pabshmm, I didn't think FHC needs cookies
-
pabsI use it with uMatrix deny-by-default too
-
JAAWell, it says so in the description, so I assume it's true.
-
» pabs wishes uMatrix wasn't dead
-
JAABut perhaps it works because uMatrix can't actually disable cookies, only prevent them from being sent on HTTP requests.
-
JAAHow does it interact with private windows?
-
pabsnot sure TBH
-
JAApabs: Turns out that the FHC AMO entry description's just horribly outdated. That cookie bug got fixed back in Firefox 59. :-)
