TheTechRoboI could :-)
-
pabsTheTechRobo: this is what I do: enable the scrollback stuff, then you get messages at least. then add the date to your time format. then after a reboot, scroll up to the right timestamp for each channel.
-
TheTechRobopabs: Yeah, I have scrollback etc enabled. The problem is the number of channels I've joined. I'm not that patient
-
» pabs was thinking about adding a patch to save the marker lines, probably chan highlighting would be doable in a similar way
-
pabsENOTIME though, and the workaround is OK
-
TheTechRoboYeah, it probably isn't that hard. Probably should learn C at some point. It just feels so much more complicated than other languages.
-
pabsTheTechRobo: btw, HexChat is GTK2 and there aren't any people working on porting it to GTK3, so at some point it may get removed from distros
-
TheTechRobopabs: Awesome
-
TheTechRoboAren't we on GTK4 by now? :-/
-
pabsyeah, not sure what I'll do when that happens :(
-
TheTechRoboI really like hexchat...
-
pabsyeah GTK4 is current
-
TheTechRoboMaybe sometime I'll make a web irc thingy. One that's persistent and doesn't lose messages. I've been wanting to do that for awhile.
-
TheTechRoboSend messages and view history from anywhere! (TM)
-
TheTechRoboI don't love browsers but it makes it more portable.
-
pabsI expect there are some of those already. not something I would touch :)
-
pabsirccloud for eg but I guess that is proprietary
-
» pabs thinks back to the days of cgiirc :)
-
TheTechRoboYeah but it's more rewarding to do it yourself :-)
-
pabs:)
-
» TheTechRobo will probably write two lines and lose interest
-
TheTechRoboThat's what usually happens :-)
-
JAAThe Lounge is one of those, which quite a few people here use. It has funny bugs, too.
-
TheTechRoboI remember setting everything up, but a lot of channels don't seem to be bridged and I like my current system (at least right now).
-
TheTechRoboI think I could manually add the channels that aren't in the AT group thingy, but that's a ton of work.
