daxxy: Looks pretty manageable. 125 threads have failed across all four forums. I guess I just got really unlucky in the first few minutes of my test run there. lol

forum.notebookreview.com/mobiquo/ta…048&returnHtml=1&page=1&perPage=100 returns something that looks like a JS browser challenge. All the others seem to be WAF blocks.

Note that it failed on the first error. Perhaps some of these have more failures on later pages.
-
JAA
Didn't bisect anything yet or similar.
-

I might have time during the day (EU time) to look further into it, assuming the sites stay up until then.
-
daxxy
nice
-
daxxy
I didn't have much time today unfortunately, just gotta hope they keep it open tomorrow
-
daxxy
I gotta go now, so in the meantime: you could just skip the broken pages inside one thread for now, at least for the like cache problem, the rest should be fine
-
daxxy
I should have time for more work tomorrow afternoon, EU time

There's this website called "Fanart Central". I'm a little concerned over it because the news on the homepage hasn't been updated since 2017, artwork hasn't been featured since 2018, and the overall site activity has slowed down heavily compared to years previous

I was taking a look at Flash uploads, and the embeds for the swf files points to the wrong locations even. Everything just has a dated look, and with a lot of entries, it's like a time vault
-
binzyboi
They haven't made an announcement in regards to shutting down the site, but I'm not sure what to think with the dwindling activity.
-
binzyboi
There's about 865000 entries, but only 100000 of those have been made since 2009

daxxy: Aw, that's a shame. The sites appear to still be up, just DNS pulled. But yeah, forums are gone. :-( I'll check later whether there is any overlap between threads that failed through the web interface and those on the API.
-
JAA
Actually no, sites are also down, but existing connections from before the shutdown are still pulling data, so the AB jobs are still going.
-
daxxy
huh?
-
daxxy
I'm not seeing any DNS or connection changes
-
daxxy
they're not down as in unconnectable, they've been replaced with a landing page
-
JAA
Yeah, looked at some wrong data there, DNS is the same.
-
JAA
It was replaced by a redirect, to be precise. But the two AB jobs are definitely still pulling data from www.notebookreview.com and www.digitalcamerareview.com.
-
JAA
Only checked the former, but it's connected to 206.19.49.82.
-
daxxy
and you're sure they're not just pulling the redirect?
-
JAA
When I run a separate curl command from the same machine, it gets the redirect.
-
JAA
Yes
-
JAA
I assume there's some load balancing thing in front of the actual site, and connections that are left open continue going to the same backend server, or something like that.

Well, now the NotebookReview job is getting some redirects.
-
JAA
Not on all requests though. Can't look at the connections in that detail.
-
JAA
Same now on DigitalCameraReview.
-

This is
forum.notebookreview.com and related forums are now down and redirected to
techtarget.com/technologyguide . @JAA thanks for the work archiving these. Looking forward to testing the archive when it is working.
-
JAA
As the existing connections fail, it starts getting redirects. One broken and one working connection on both jobs now.
-
JAA
Probably won't keep working for much longer.
-

I was grabbing my own forum API dump (nothing you don't have, I'm sure, just ran it on the side since I didn't have anything else ready) and around the time I saw they changed the config, they'd flipped the off switch in the forum software already
